I am enjoying the last of my found-money Southern Comfort. Recently a terrible condition has overtaken me. I now like summer. I am still being sort of English about it, in that I am spending this likely-brief English summer worrying about how miserable I am going to feel come autumn. I would prefer, though, a later dawn. I'm all for the sunny days, suddenly, and much in favour of the late night light, but I do not enjoy the premature sunrise. Perhaps more to the point is that while Australia was busy getting me all friendly with Sol it allowed me to forget how early and fucking loudly the dawn chorus rises in England. I want sunset at midnight, but sunrise at about ten in the morning. Does that happen anywhere, ever? Did the journo girl on Home and Away get more attractive since she became a gibbering drug-addicted wreck? What's the deal with that? Tonight I have been listening is Isabel Allende going on about the plight of women, and wondering if Lieblingest did end up chucking anything out of the window. Nah, that's a lie, I'm wondering what she ended up chucking out the window. Also I got some Monster Munch, argued with an Anarchist -who, I think, did not understand the word, 'autarky', which made criticising it difficult going-, and I know that I was going to say something about Ibn Rushd, here, but I can't remember what it was. I have listened in direct succession to everything that Spotify has to offer from Melt Banana, Blonde Redhead, Hope of the States, and Clinic. And I still have Alan Davies singing, "Peter Cushing lives in Whitstable, I have seen him on his bicycle, I have seen him buying vegetables, Peter Cushing lives..." running through my head. Mrrgh.
