This, too ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fucking Hell. Sorry, but this sucks. I've finally heard back from the government on my visa application, and they're all set to reject it because my principle employer during my seasonal work can't confirm half of the work that I did for him. I even telephoned the guy to make sure, and he gave me start and end dates which I then put on my application. Now the Department of Immigration has contacted him to check my claim, and he says he can only confirm that I worked for him from some random middle date. I have some payslips from that employer, but they were never very organised about it, and so long as the money was going into my account and they could confirm when asked that, yes, I had worked for them, I assumed that I'd be okay. I have one week-spanning slip dated from the 16th to... the 16th. That's when he's willing to claim that I started working for him. How is the 16th to the 16th a week? Gah! Unless I worked twice at once the next week, it's pretty clear that I started before then. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I've a couple of weeks to 'explain myself'. Fuck's sake. Nobody else I've spoken to has had anything like this much trouble (without clearly deserving it). I really can't bear the thought of going back to England right now. Of not being able to go here and there, of not seeing people whom I actually like. I have no ideas or desires there, and I'm starting to feel like a depressed kid, again. This is ridiculous. 2:58 p.m. - 2008-01-10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
