This, too

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't go to bed at eight PM, can I? I'll miss all that dark.

Mh. This weekend was well spent. No, really. Saturday morning was consumed by fighting the urge to get up after only four hours sleep, by pottering around in realisation of what a pointless exercise it was to rise, and eventually by taking an IQ test while arranging to go and get drunk. I scored 138, which is not far removed from what I remember getting a couple of years ago when taking a test written in German. I was hoping that my grasp of my native language might be sufficiently better that it might bump me up a couple of points, but no. Then I went to wait for the bus, being alert enough to notice a change in the timetable. Yeah. That was stupid. As if the drivers would know about a change in the timetable that's only available on line, at every second stop, and at the bus station. I waited in the rain for what some of us call fucking ages, then I walked home and asked for a lift. Bah.

I have not been drinking nearly enough, because I had only three or four pints before being able to feel it. There was L. talking about party politics and there was me talking about alien concepts like democracy, and there was funny looks from around the pub at our corner's glee over a 1960-something edition of Whittaker's Almanac. Then there was live music at breath-taking volume, and there was L. in reviewing mode, because that's what he does, now; and there was very nearly sleep from me, since that four hours thing was no good for me. Then there was Chinese food and miles more in walking, which is best done while awake, curse the luck.

Sunday gave me about as much sleep and a lot less walking. I think it was generally just a pointless day, but I really wasn't paying attention.

Oh, but today has been more promising. Lucy is back in Family Affairs. Hurrah! I wonder if she's planning to kill anyone else... there's too many minor characters hanging around, I think. And I've just heard from a friend for the first time in ages, so that was nice.

Hrm. I think that somebody short-changed me.
